I researched a replacement cylinder for my classic Aeron chair. Amazon had a lot of inexpensive options. My thinking was this: This company refurbishes Aeron chairs professionally, and the last thing they want is returns.....so....I figure they are using best product they can find. And, even though their Cylinder was more expensive, it fit perfectly and seems solid. I am very happy with my investment. Crandall repair videos are life savers. They show exactly how to do the job, and even how difficulties can occur and how to overcome them. Super helpful. I give Crandall the highest marks. Spend the extra dollars and get the best components for your valuable chair. Satisfied!!!
Excellent cylinder. At first I thought it was broken because when I sat on it I immediately sank, but after watching some videos I found that there was a hex screw I needed to adjust above the cylinder, and then it worked great. It goes up even higher than the original cylinder did
My chair is like new again. I didn’t realize how bad the cylinder had gotten until I put this replacement in. My chair sits high and doesn’t slowly sink. I’m very pleased that I purchased a replacement.

What Size Cylinder Should I Choose?
We recommend a standard height gas cylinder for most chairs used with a standard desk height.
For standing desks or elevated surfaces, an extended (tall) gas cylinder is suggested.
A stool kit, which includes a foot ring, can be added to the extended height gas cylinder for extra comfort when sitting in a raised position.
How Do I Install My Cylinder?
How Do I Install My Cylinder?
We recommend using a pipe wrench (the larger, the better) to remove the current gas cylinder from your chair. Once it's removed, the new cylinder can be easily installed.
Please note that chairs with top-activated mechanisms may have set screws that need to be adjusted for proper cylinder function.
For side-activated cylinders, you may need to either attach a cable to the cylinder or ensure the lever is aligned correctly. However, our newly designed cone cylinder for the V2 Leap chair installs without any special instructions.
