So chair is now functional again. Removing the "lock rings" took MUCH longer than expected (the fact they were "double-stacked" exactly on top of each other was the problem - eventually solved by using a tiny screwdriver to spin the top one enough so that it was staggered in orientation with the bottom one, so they could then be pried out one at a time). The video makes it look so easy - don't believe it. For re-assembly, there were no "black washers" included (per the instructions/video), I used the silver ones that were included on either side of the new bearing pack (note that these were much smaller in OD than the OEM washers, and the ball bearings were right at the outer circumference). So taking off 1 star for the inaccurate instructions - but all appears to be well!
Great replacement cylinder to fix my fasvorite old sinking Criterion chair. Instructions were good making it an easy repair. Shipping was fast and it was well packed. If I ever need another part for this chair I know where to go - Crandall Office Furniture! Thank you!
This was the most difficult cylinder to replace because of the need to pry out the locking washer with an awl. The kit from Crandall worked great once I was able get the old one out. The video was very helpful
So pleasantly surprised to find this replacement - really did make my chair feel like new again!
