How to Assemble Your Steelcase Series 2 Chair from Crandall Office Furniture

Hi, Dave here with Crandall Office, and today I’m going to guide you through the quick and easy assembly of your Steelcase Series 2 chair, purchased through the Steelcase Authorized Returns Program at CrandallOffice.com. We ship our chairs slightly differently than Steelcase, so this guide will help you get everything set up. Let’s get started!

Parts Included

Your chair will arrive with the following parts:

•Base

•Casters

•Gas Cylinder

•Seat

•Chair Core

Step 1: Install the Casters

First, take the base of your chair and press fit each caster into the base one at a time. This should be an easy process, as the casters are designed to snap in with minimal effort.

Step 2: Install the Gas Cylinder

With the casters installed, set the base on the floor and then take the gas cylinder and slide it into the central hole of the base, making sure the larger side is facing down. The cylinder should lock into place securely.

Step 3: Attach the Chair Core

Next, take the chair core and flip it upside down to expose the receiving hole for the gas cylinder. Carefully insert the gas cylinder into this hole. Once done, flip the chair upright while applying pressure between the chair core and the base to ensure that the cylinder remains in place, as it is not fully locked until weight is applied.

Step 4: Attach the Seat

Now, take the seat and align the opening on the side with the two rails on the chair core. Pull the seat depth lever to fully engage the seat with the rails. Ensure that the seat is securely attached by testing its functionality.

Step 5: Test the Gas Cylinder and Chair Functionality

Stand up and test the gas cylinder by adjusting the seat height. If everything moves smoothly and holds position, your chair is fully assembled and ready for use!
