Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
When Will the Headrest be Available for Purchase?
Tooling began in mid-July, and we anticipate it will take at least a few months before production parts are ready and the headrest becomes available for purchase. We will continue to update this page with the latest information as it becomes available.
Will the Headrest Fit All Leap Chairs?
The headrest is designed to fit all Version 2 (V2) Steelcase Leap chairs. We have successfully tested the prototype on chairs with black, platinum, and polished aluminum frames.
Please note that the headrest is not compatible with V1 Leap or Leap Plus chairs at this time.
What Fabrics Will be Available on the Headrest?
When purchasing directly from Atlas, you will have the option to choose from their standard black fabric and vegan leather selections.
When buying from Crandall Office Furniture, you’ll have access to all of our standard upholstery options (including Open House, BioKnit, Vinyl, Brisa, and Leather), perfectly matching your remanufactured Leap chair purchased from us.
We are also exploring the possibility of upholstering with Steelcase fabrics to match OEM seating, though it is uncertain if or when this option will be available.
How Does the Headrest Install?
We designed the headrest for a toolless installation. It hooks over the back of the chair, snaps onto the ribbon back support, and clips into place to secure it. Detailed installation information and instructions will be provided once we have the final production parts.
Where Can I Buy the Headrest?
The headrest will be available for purchase exclusively through Atlas Headrest and Crandall Office Furniture.
Is This the Same Headrest as the Aeron Atlas Headrest?
The Leap Headrest will feature a design similar to the padded version of the Aeron Atlas Headrest, with minor adjustments to its sliding mechanisms to enhance adjustability and functionality, ensuring a better fit for the Leap chair while maintaining a full range of adjustments.

We will keep this product page updated regularly, so you can always check back here for the latest information. However, we highly encourage you to sign up (form above, and also included directly below this text) to receive instant updates via email as soon as they become available.
How Much will it Cost?
We haven’t finalized the price yet, but our aim is to keep it very close to the Aeron headrest price of $189.95.
